[Looks like there's going to be a Part Three of this dolorous saga. Stay tuned. By the way, this story is still the #1 Google for "Glen Lineberry." And "Lisa Greve."]
by Catherine King
More shocking revelations since I finished posting Part One.
If was blown away by the behaviors of Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve before, as I wrote in Part One, what I learned a couple of days ago delivered the double, triple punch.
People, I really mean it when I say I feel "an all-encompassing numbness", an "icy chill" or "cold dread". Feelings like these are almost unbearably agonizing for me. Well, between the posting of Part One and the writing of Part Two I got a nasty shock again. When I get played I have a total unpleasant physical reaction.
That's why it's taken this long to pull myself back together for Part Two, wherein I let everyone know now what Glen Lineberry and Lisa Geve didn't want us to know then. Such as who Lisa Greve really is. And that these polished people had called us out to invite us aboard a sinking ship, their now defunct printing operation formally known as A Little More Red, at the same time they were buying the whole block.
Remember, in Part One, how Lisa Greve appeared just as Glen Lineberry finished giving Jerome and me the tour? So smoothly orchestrated. . .
"This is Lisa Greve", Glen Lineberry told us. We shook hands and sat down at the conference table, which was right before us. There may or may not have been any pleasantries exchanged (as I said, we were so nervous and excited) before Glen Lineberry made his strange, off-putting confession that although "I usually get to the point first, but . . .", in our case he was, . . . what, . . .why? He wasn't speaking clearly from the beginning.
Because even before Jerome and I sat down at their Bentley Projects conference table, Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve had already decided to be deceitful about who Lisa Greve really is. Don't think I didn't notice that he didn't say to us, "This is Lisa Greve, my assistant", or "This is Lisa Greve, the director of Bentley Projects". No, Glen Lineberry just said "This is Lisa Greve".
You see, old Southern Gentleman Nice Doggie Glen Lineberry can ignore common ettiquette just fine when it suits his sleazy purposes. He wanted to lure us onto a sinking ship, but why?
These people are treacherous. If we had known then what we know now, we would not have, IN GOOD FAITH, let Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve be fucking with us since last fall. Hopefully, though, this FairStory will cause both Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve plenty of pain, anger, frustration and embarassment. It would also be great if I could scare off some potential investors and buyers from Bentley Projects. Because, really, you don't want to work with these people. Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve, that is.
There will always be plenty of artists who will bend over as far backward as people like Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve desire. Probably most artists would. They probably think I'm crazy and I think they're whores.
(As I write this, my Part One is the #1 Google for "Glen Lineberry"! I haven't Googled Lisa Greve yet, not having been that interested, believing her to be an appallingly unprofessional assistant, not the Director of Bentley Projects. She certainly doesn't act like Director of Bentley Projects. That's the biggest reason I was so shocked, to tell you the truth. )
Okay, now I have a confession about my true identity. The graphic artist portrayed in my installation America the Beautiful (see Democracy in America: Here's Your Balance/ Another FairStory: Part Two and Also Reading Bad Signs on Roosevelt Row), isn't really a friend of mine. American Woman is really me and I can tell you after decades of freelancing, Glen Lineberry and Lisa Greve are no better and no more than common sleazoids.
Wrapped up in fancy packaging. So maybe they are worse because they know they come off so Rock Solid Stable. They don't treat you straight, because they know they can impress you into assuming that they're going to treat you stright, thus giving them a hidden advantage. And that's sleazy. Just wanted you all to know that. Take it for what it's worth.
