AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA

To George W. Bush
From Catherine King

Mr. President:

This is the first letter I've ever written to a politician, and I'm just a few years younger than you.

We have lived through a lot of trying times in America, haven't we, Mr. President? Doubtless though, being a middle-class citizen, I've felt the pain much more than you.

Before 8:45 am Eastern Time, September 11, 2001, I WAS A DEMOCRAT, Mr. President. But come 8:46 on that beautiful blue morning, it was so painfully clear who were the good guys and who were the bad guys.

Average Americans have no experience of cozying up with the Arabs --like you with Bandar and the others. And by the way, what about that photo of him looming over you, on your own couch in your own home in Crawford? Man, did you look compromised. Did you know that's what average Americans feel? It was unseemly, not to mention unmanly.

I had plenty of complaints about you, your father, Republicans, Big Oil, and even American chutzpah. BUT, YOU KNOW, I THREW ALL THAT ASIDE, AT EXACTLY 8:46 AM EST,SEPTEMBER 11, 2001!

Whose side are you on? You are piling pain on top of pain. We don't understand why you are so ready to sell US down the river. You must NOT allow our ports to be controlled by a Muslim country.

I jumped aboard the USA bandwagon That Day and have been beside you every step of the way in the War on Terror. Four and a half years it's been now, and I have been the most loyal American you could ever hope to encounter.

Mr. President, I live in Arizona, and let me tell you, you are letting US down badly on immigration and national defense.

Don't do it.

Sincerely,

Catherine King
